Costa Rica!

Here is my promised post about our vacation to CR, sorry it is delayed I was waiting for Kyle to download the pics. I'll go ahead and tell you right now that if you like pictures you will love this post! And they are not in any order by the way.

So we left Monday, June 27th at 7 am. Carter arrived in FW a couple of days before, so she was with us. Side note: the twins LOVE Carter and she was SO helpful with them! In Houston we met up with Kyle's mom, Bekah, and her boyfriend, Carl. We all sat around each other so it was nice having extra help. We also had some super nice people around us that played with the twins and made them laugh. They only slept about 45 min. of the 2.5 hour flight (not surprised) but all in all they did pretty good. While getting our bags in CR, we discovered that the second pack n play that Bekah had purchased (and was her only checked bag) did not make the trip. There was already one p/p that she bought and brought up on a previous trip. However the problem was she never got a claim ticket for it in Midland (never gave her one) and their flight had been delayed so who knows where it was. But we figured it might come in on the evening flight.

The shuttle from the condo picks us up, SO happy to have A/C!!! It's their winter/rainy season down there and it was in the 90's and humid! But what a gorgeous country it is, I loved the drive from the airport to the condo...the scenery not holding a wiggle worm in my lap! Yeah I know, bad parent, we didn't get car seats. Things are a lot different down there people!

So we waited and never heard about the p/p, so Presley slept on the p/p in the master bath closet (huge) and Marshall slept on couch cushions on the master bath floor. He did pretty good, and never really got off the cushions. Of course we also made sure he was good and tired before we put him down! I also brought the video monitor with me so we could see them. We never found the missing p/p and ended up renting one from the condo people Wednesday evening.

We spent our days at the condo pool (right outside our door), and going to the Beach Club that her condos own. It's basically like a country club on the beach, members only, have an awesome pool with cabanas, a spa, and a delicious restaurant. We had the same waitress all week and she always made sure our drinks were always full! :)

The twins and I didn't "do" a whole lot, since they are so young. Kyle and I took them to the beach a couple of mornings, and we swam at the pool. We all went to Hermosa Beach (10 min away), but the twins got cranky not long after we got there so we didn't stay too long. We also walked around CoCo beach and shopped and ate. Kyle, Carter, and Carl went fishing one day, and Carter caught the biggest Mahi Mahi of all three of them! They had a really good time and brought home a TON of fish. So my mother-in-law made fish tacos that were to die for. On Friday, my brother-in-law Brett and his girlfriend Courtney came, and on Saturday Carl left and Bekah's friend Vicki came. Sunday Kyle stayed with the twins and I and Bekah, Vicki, Brett, Courtney, and Carter went on an all day excursion of horseback riding, ziplining, and a little mud bath/swimming at the end. They had a blast, and I've already decided that even though I am scared of heights, I WILL do the zip lines some day!

I did have a couple of days where I got some "me" time and I got to lay out for a couple of hours while the babies napped/others watched them. I hate to admit this, but I was pretty stressed the majority of the time there. I had a good time, it's not that, but having the twins and being not in our environment, off their schedule (they woke up at 5:30 everyday), and what not made me stressed. (oh yeah and they were teething) I just didn't want other people to get annoyed/have a bad time because my little munchkins couldn't handle being out and about very long. It was also hot as I mentioned earlier, and they are not used to being out in the heat. However, now I have been there and I know what to expect next time we go. I am a worrier/stresser, and I am always worried about other people that I forget to ask myself, "am I having a good time?" It is something I need to work on, and I am determined to be able to relax!!! :) I am already looking forward to the next time we go, and I am so, so thankful and excited that M and P get to spend their summers here!

At Hermosa Beach, Presley was not a fan of the ocean

I mean...gorgeous!

At the Pacifico Beach Club, attempt #101 of a picture with the twins and I. Let's just say thank goodness there is a strap on my bathing suit top!

Playing with Carl's hat

Our view from Bekah's condo...paradise!

P playing at Coco Beach one morning. Love the rag-a-muffin mismatched look we have her in. I just grabbed some swim diapers and some t shirts.

Marshall wanted a plantain, so he ate a banana peel off the ground (it was ours)...awesome

WIth Daddy at Coco Beach

He loves sticks

Presley, Carter and I at Hermosa Beach (we attempted dinner but the place we wanted to go to was closed). At least we got a good picture of the view though!
