Heavy Heart

This morning I have a very heavy heart. There is a mom in my mothers of multiples group who went in to labor and had her twin girls at 26 weeks back in December. Baby Ada was just over a pound and little Siena was only 12 oz. From the beginning Siena had lots of medical problems (diagphragmatic hernia, pulmonary hypertension, and growth restriction), and as time went on things got worse. However some how she was able to rally and get through every surgery and live for 7.5 months. In the end, her poor lungs and body had been through so much, that they couldn't fight any more. Her parents, Denae and Brian, have shown the most amazing strength and faith throughout this whole thing, and never stopped fighting for their daughter. Even when Ada was able to come home, they were still 100% there for Siena.

I guess one of the many reasons why Siena's story has touched me is that she was born at 26 weeks, the same time when Sarah started having preterm labor and we were sent to labor and delivery at the hospital, because there was a chance my babies were coming...soon. But God wasn't ready for them to come yet, and they stayed 10 more weeks.

Please pray for the McCoy family, that they will have peace knowing their little Siena is now an angel watching over them.

Here is the link to their Caring Bridge site, sorry I'm not talented enough to know how to make it link when you click it. :)
