Yesterday was the day! We went in for our 36 week appointment yesterday morning, and Sarah was showing strong signs of preeclampsia. Among other things, her blood pressure was high. So my doctor decided to go ahead and take them yesterday. Our c section was scheduled for 3:00, however my doctor had another set of twins that needed to be delivered first so we were pushed back. Everything went perfectly during the surgery. Presley was born first at 5:39 p.m. and she weighed 6 lbs and was 18.3 inches long. Marshall was born at 5:40 p.m. 5 lbs 12 oz and was 19 inches long. 5/10/2010 was a lucky day and also my sister and brother-in-law's wedding anniversary!
Marshall was grunting and "pulling" when he breathed, so they took him to the NICU for 6 hours to watch it. Around midnight he was released and we were finally able to hold him and be a family of 4 in our room. They are both doing wonderfully and Kyle and I are overflowing with love for them.
Sarah is recovering well, and will hopefully be able to go home tomorrow. She did excellent during the surgery and looks great!
We are not sure exactly when we will be heading home, but more than likely it will either be Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. They are considered "late preterm" babies so they have to stay for at least 48 hours.
We couldn't have asked for more perfect babies and we just thank everyone so much for your constant support and prayers! Pictures to come soon!
