Today was my first day taking care of the babies ON MY OWN! The twins haven't been on exactly the same schedule, but about 45 minutes apart with their feedings. Well this morning they decided to get on exactly the same schedule...hungry at the same time, pooping at the same time, NOT napping at the same time, etc. It was interesting, to say the least. They finally went down around 11 a.m. but could I take a much needed nap? No! I had to wash bottles, do a load of laundry, etc. Around 12:45 Marshall woke up and was hungry, he eats every two hours I might add. I was proactive and had already made his bottle and had it warmed since he wakes up every 2 hours like clock work. I give him the bottle and he starts going to town, but then he stops and starts crying. This happens for a while, where he would start sucking, then stop and cry. So I go change his diaper thinking that he might have a full load in there and maybe that is why he is upset. Same thing, start eating then cry. Next I try giving him some Mylicon, thinking he is gassy. An hour passes by, and I realize that every time I took out the bottle to try and calm him, there wasn't anything gone from the bottle. The liquid was still at 100 ml. I think to myself, that's weird. He is going to town on the bottle, but the same amount of liquid is in there! For some reason I picked up the bottle, turned it upside down...and nothing came out! The nipple had some how gotten blocked! My poor boy had been starving this entire time and being teased by the bottle! I was able to get a short nap in, and took a shower around 6 when Kyle got home from work. All in all, it wasn't too bad of a day, pretty good for my first solo day!
My sister and my nieces are on their way here for a visit, and I can't wait for them to meet the babies! I will post pics of their visit, and I am sure I will have some funny stories to tell!
