Katy Visit

Last Wednesday the twins and I headed down to Katy to see my parents. My mom met me in Waco and left her car at her cousin's house so she could ride with me. Yes, I have amazing parents! As I've said before,traveling by myself with two babies would be extremely difficult, and I am very lucky that I have parents who are willing to (voluntarily) go above and beyond to help me. Wednesday night I went to dinner with some girlfriends from college, Marilyn, Elizabeth, and Amanda. We had yummy appetizers and even yummier drinks! Thursday we went over to another girlfriend from college, Nicole, house to have a play date with her son, Tyler. It was so good to see my girls and I am so happy I got to see all of them! Friday we drove out to spend the weekend at my parents' house in Ellinger. The twins had a great time playing with Nana and Papi, and trying to chase after Cha Cha the Chihuahua while staying away from Mollie the cocker spaniel puppy!

My parents are selling their house in Katy to move out to their place in Ellinger, which is about 10 minutes east of La Grange. They have lived in that house for 22 years, and I have to say that it is bitter sweet. I basically grew up in that house, and have too many wonderful memories there. It's about two minutes from my old high school, so I got to watch it grow into a monstrosity as the years went by after I graduated (it has it's own parking garage!). They have had the place in Ellinger for 5.5 years now, but it's not home. It will be weird not having a place to stay when we have to go to Houston for things, and having my parents still live in Katy allowed me to see my friends in Houston when I would come home for whatever reason (like last week). I know it is best, as having to keep up with two houses was a pain for my parents. I can't help but be a little sad, I can't help it...I'm a sentimental person. :) Here are some pictures, sorry there are no captions but I'm being lazy!
