We have had some rough days here at the Nix house lately. Both of the twins are in a screaming stage, but Presley seems to do it more often. Screaming because we're happy, because we're sad, because we want our sippy that is on the floor, because our brother/sister stole our toy, because we just want to scream...all seem to be reasons they do this (plus about a hundred more). It's loud. It's shrill. It's wearing on me. A lot. Seriously. I wish all day were happy hour. Just kidding on the last one, but not really. :) I know it's a phase, and they have been though it before, but this one seems to be more intense than last time.
They (mainly Marshall) have started throwing their food on the floor. They aren't doing it then laughing, or doing it for attention. Marshall will throw it on the ground if he doesn't want it, but what's funny is sometimes he will put it in his hands then just slowly open his fingers like he is trying to do it on the sly. Foods that they used to love (and that mommy stocked up on) they are now protesting! Pears, peaches, avocado (just P), peas (P again)...maybe I should just list the rest of them as Presley because she is the main one being picky!
Marshall has started pulling Presley's hair, and she has started biting him. Oddly enough, neither of them get upset when this happens. Weird. Don't worry, I still tell them no! They get upset when the other one steals their toy, but the problem is Marshall rarely plays by himself when Presley is around (um that is pretty much all the time). He follows her the takes the toy she is playing with. She gets upset, then moves on somewhere else to find a new toy. He follows her and takes that one...you get the drift.
I am trying my hardest to "keep calm and carry on" (my new favorite quote BTW), but it's definitely challenging me right now!
